Do you want to build a better future for working people? Apply now to join the Member Organizer Reserves Program! The Member Organizer Reserves Program is SEIU’s national member training program. Members from locals across the country travel to work on campaigns vital to the future of our union.
Hundreds of members have helped working families by organizing:
- food service workers in Houston, Chicago and New Jersey
- state workers across Colorado
- child care workers in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts

The program begins with classroom training, followed by a campaign assignment lasting several weeks to several months. The classroom training equips members with the basic organizing skills they will need on the campaign, and looks at lessons from labor’s past and ongoing struggles for justice.
The Member Organizer Reserves program is training thousands of SEIU members in the latest organizing tactics. These trained members can then continue building the union at home when they return to their union jobs at the end of 
their campaign experiences.
Throughout the campaign members are reimbursed for their lost time wages and expenses. Following the initial campaign and training, members may be recommended to continue in the Reserves program. These Member Organizers will be “called up” to work on future campaigns that match their skills and union background. To apply, members must be recommended by their local union.
